NORWALK, Conn. – A new champion in the Norwalk Recreation and Parks Jack Casagrande Touch Football League will be crowned Thursday when Tucci Lumber takes on Resource Management at 7 p.m. at Norwalk High School’s Testa Field.

Tucci Lumber, which went 5-3 during the regular season, knocked off defending champion Pastimes AC, 14-0, in Sunday’s semifinals. Tom Taliercio threw a touchdown pass to Pat Moffett and Pete Tucci scored on an interception return for Tucci Lumber. Pastimes entered the tournament as the No.  2 seed after going 6-2 during the regular season.

Top-seeded Resource Management (7-1 in the regular season) scored its only touchdown in the second half of the semifinals to sneak past Fairfield County Vendors, 6-0. T.J. Trimboli’s touchdown pass to Mike Abate accounted for the game’s only score. The Vendors went 4-5 during the regular season and won the second half championship in the Western Division.

Many of the players on Resource Management played in last year’s title game under a different sponsor. Pastime AC won last year’s final, 20-12.
