NORWALK, Conn. – Families of a Norwalk elementary school had a good time recently and raised money for their school at the same time.

Parents who don't often go to restaurants made their way with their children to the RIO Border Café, at 330 Connecticut Ave., for a Tracey Elementary School fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Twenty percent of the proceeds were donated to the school.

"RIO even hired their strolling guitarist/singer, Mario, for our special fundraiser night," Patty Frattaroli of the school's PTO wrote in an e-mail. "Tuesday is usually not a music night for RIO."

The money donated to Tracey will go towards special events, such as field trips, family nights, assemblies and more. "Unfortunately, being a Title 1 school, most of our students only get these experiences through school, especially now during these hard economic times," Frattoroli said.
