NORWALK, Conn. – About 2 inches of light, fluffy snow had fallen Saturday morning on the coastal area of Norwalk in what one woman called the first storm of the season. "It's January," she said, disregarding the pre-season October snowstorm.

The National Weather Service predicted the snow to continue with accumulations of 4  to 6 inches. Department of Public Works snow plows were on the scene, plowing the main roads, where the wintry white stuff had not prevented drivers from venturing out.

NOAA's winter weather advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Winds are from the northeast at 5  to 10 mph. Temperatures are predicted to be in the lower 20s, with visibilities restricted to a half-mile at times.

Tonight is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 16 degrees. The wind will pick up a little, heading north at 8 to 13 degrees. Sunday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 33 and an east wind between 8 and 10 miles per hour.
