WESTPORT, Conn. - SpinOdyssey co-chair and Westport resident Patty Kondub joined the Staples High School football team to help promote SpinOdyssey 2012, the 6-hour indoor cycling and fitness event that supports American Cancer Society breast cancer research and the Whittingham Cancer Center of Norwalk Hospital.
Football team members have volunteered at the event for the past several years. In addition, mothers of Staples football captains will be part of a SpinOdyssey team that will ride at the event on March 4 at Intensity in Norwalk.
Captains’ moms who will ride include Westport Town Clerk Patty Strauss (mother of Gregg Strauss), Tammy Zelkowitz (mom of Joey Zelkowitz and wife of Dr. Richard Zelkowitz, a Whittingham Cancer Center breast cancer researcher whose work has benefitted from SpinOdyssey funds), and Caroline Kelly (mother of Nick Kelly).
The Staples High School Gridiron Club will have a table in the SpinOdyssey village, where it will display photos of their "pink out" game where they wear pink and raise money for breast cancer. For more information about SpinOdyssey, log on to www.spinodyssey.org.
