Cancer is 3 times more common in teens and young adults than in children. Yet, there has been almost no improvement in cancer survival rates for those aged 15 to 40 since 1975. This is not OK. Delayed diagnosis is a major contributor to this alarming statistic. Teens and young adults feel invincible and minimize symptoms and medical professionals can be hesitant to consider a cancer diagnosis. This gives cancer time to advance to stages that are more difficult to treat. Early detection can change this. These funds will support 15-40 Connection educational outreach to schools, colleges and organizations.
